Hi everyone! Well, the economy in the U.S. is shot. Sales are at the all-time lowest I've seen in 25-years and yet pro-model board development and international sales/activity is on the rise,especially the kite-skimming explosion. This is greatly a result of the latest team rider/ kite-skimming teacher Freddy "Dready" from Venezuela. A very pro-active and visible freestyle and deep ocean wave charger, Dready is featured in the new online magazine kiteskimming.com. Also look for the shaper interview with Roush. It's an easy informative read! Thanks to the incredible foundation work laid for the past decade by sensational and versatile boardrider Joey Pasquali kite skimboarding is really taking flight!! Freddy has a high-class kiteskimming camp frequented by many European riders and will be carrying Roush Concave skimboards as the board of choice!! At a time like this the impact of such proactive and energetic riders is what will quickly rejuvinate the economics of the sluggish industry and bring the fun back to life!! Congratulations to Julian Deline of Laguna Beach, for his superb skimming at Sandy's Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Inaugural Contest of The Hawaiian Amateur Skimboarding League or "George Downing Hawaii Skim Slam".

This contest mixes international amateurs and pros in a three contest series to promote the sport of skimboarding in Hawaii. Eighteen year old amateur, Roush Skimboard Team Rider Julian Deline opened the event by placing 2nd in the first heat, including a 9.6 judged wave in that heat. He finished 1st in the second heat with a 9.2 highest overall judged wave of the heat.

The final found Julian finishing 4th overall in an extremely hard fought battle of amateur and pro skimmers from the Hawaiian Islands and Japan.

Way to Go Julian!!!
