Eric’s Corner:

After working for decades with a multitude of world class craftsmen making skimboards, I decided five years ago to crystallize my own skimboard custom label Roush Creations. I was at a crossroads after watching each of my mentors throw in the towel. They refused to compromise their tedious quality standards and could not turn healthy profits at market prices.

In late 2000, I inherited the equipment from “Riptide” Skimboards. Pete Rodgers and I had the hare-brained scheme to have boards replicated by a wakeboard company using molding techniques as a way to generate some royalties to fund our habit of making high-end super custom skimboards. After failing with two inadequate manufacturing partners, the stars finally aligned.

I persistently approached Surftech, the most ambitious and talented mass producer of surf products on Earth. I met with owner/master builder Randy French and stated my case. After months of careful discussion and development, a partnership has been born and our opening product line is astonishing. Thank you Randy and everyone at Surftech for evolving to a level of excellence which can accommodate my very ambitious, artful and challenging design work. No one else could come close.
